An op-ed that WASN'T PRINTED in the local paper. "Taxpayers need to look in to their local school system. They seem like a muddled bureaucracy, while the teachers are blamed for a crappy curriculum. When a child's doing math with a calculator, that's not education. Without phonics in the first grade, there's no proper English. No telling what's passing for science, history and geography. One thing sure, taking federal money makes for nothing but administrators and statistic accumulation. And turns the district into a bunch of federal flunkies." Wonder why it wasn't printed. Anyway, a new well researched commentary is "Rotten to the Core: Obama's war on Academic Standards Part 1" and "Rotten to the Core Part 2: Readin', Writin' and Deconstructionism." by michellemalkin.com. Armed with this kind of info, every Tea Party should have an education committee. No more than 3 people. They should get textbooks from their schools and read them. They should get input from teachers of acquaintance, working and retired. Then the Tea Party can approach school boards and principals with the Conservative agenda. Get basic ed back in schools. Let's roll.
